Lyn and I are retired. We have lived in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia all our lives. Although I did spend some two years in two trips living in England. The first twelve months were spent in Malton, Yorkshire and the other twelve months were spent in Cambridge. I grew up in a horseracing family. My father Russell Maddock was a top jockey both here in Australia and in the UK. My mother, Brenda Pitt Maddock an artist, came from a family who were involved in both horseracing and showriding since the 19th century. Both our families arrived in Australia in the 19th century, mine (Samuel Pitt 1831, Thomas Grenier 1842, Thomas Devitt 1880s, William Park Thompson and Mary Elizabeth (Fraser) 1850). Lyn’s (James Griffiths Williams 1860s Lucy Harvey 1860s, Andrew and Ann Bell 1860s, Robert Horsburgh 1870s). We have two children, a son Russell who is an accountant and a daughter Stacey who is a Public Servant . Our interests lie in British Classic cars mainly Sunbeams, Talbots, Imps and other Rootes vehicles , also we are researching our Family History  Russell & Bluck in Shropshire, Maddock and Ellis in Nottingham, Maddock in Wales, Pitt and Hutchins in Devonshire (Tiverton), Pitty and Harvey in Essex (Newport, Widdington), Grenier in Sussex (Brighton), Bell in Scotland (Edinburgh), Horsburgh in Scotland (Juniper Green, Colinton, Lasswade, Tranent, ), Young in Scotland (Ormiston) Thompson in Scotland (Glasgow and Perth) and Fraser in Scotland (Perth and Inverness)  and Devitt, Considine in Ireland ( Ennistimon, Clare) and Stokes in Ireland (Moycarkey, Tipperary). We are members of The Australian-Scottish Community (Qld) Inc, Friends of Toowong Cemetery and Friends of God's Acre. Our other interests are Siamese, Burmese and Britisha Shorthair cats , and far away places
